Francesca Ryan

Francesca is one of our cardiology Registered Veterinary Nurses. She assists the cardiologists, carries out procedures such as blood pressure measurements, ECGs and blood samples, as well as having a key role in client education and communication.

Francesca qualified in 2015 from the Royal Veterinary College and topped up her foundation degree to a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2016. After getting her degree she went travelling around to world for a few months and even spending time in a monkey rehabilitation centre in South Africa! Upon returning she worked as a locum for different practices and eventually returned to the small animal practice where she had previously completed her training. While there she became a clinical coach and took a keen interest in training student nurses and went on to become the ‘Training Practice Principal’.

When Francesca’s two pets; a sassy Pomeranian called Echo and a soppy cat named Rambo, were both diagnosed with heart conditions her passion for cardiology was ignited. She has thoroughly enjoyed learning about their respective conditions and how to manage them. This is something she hopes to be able to share with fellow owners and feels this unique insight will help reassure them.

In her free time, she enjoys walking Echo, along with her two family dogs, Alfie and Chester, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (one who also has a heart condition), enjoying nice food or supporting her Husband as a Para Table Tennis athlete.
